Happy 4th of July! I did not have a holiday today. Turns out no one else cares that it's America's independence day :). We did have some excitement today, though! Now, when you think of 'nature' things happening around a Caribbean island, what do you think? Hurricane? Well, it does happen to be hurricane season, but today we had an earthquake! Not a major one, but still made my apartment shake. I suppose it makes sense, being an island...made by earthquakes from tectonic plates scraping together and all. Strange, though - the first thing I thought of was 'volcano?'. But, Mt. Liamigua is indeed dormant, and will likely stay that way; at least for another 5 months!
